Georges St. Pierre, the good son

By Chris Granet

"I have goals that I fix. Before I started doing MMA, I wanted to be an MMA professional fighter. Everybody told me I couldn't do it and I did it."

"After I became MMA professional fighter, I wanted to fight in the UFC, the most prestigious organisation. Everybody told me I couldn't do it, and I did it"

"After that I wanted to become UFC world champion. Everybody told me, ah, it's impossible - Matt Hughes, this guy is going to be there for ever. And I did it, I beat him.

"And then after I became champion I wanted to make sure I had security, like enough money to take care of me and my family."

"My other goal was to pay my parents' house, and after the Jon Fitch I did. I went to the bank. It was the most beautiful day of my life. I reached my goal"

"I went in secret, because my mum and my dad would never have wanted to let me to do that. So I went in secret to the bank and I told the guy at the bank, 'you see that money?' I put up the account and said 'I don't want my parents pay any more debt for the rest of their lives."

"All the mortgage, the house and everything, the car, you take the money, you put everything in the account. I said every time there is a payment, take it from my account for the rest of their lives."

"They had a call from the bank saying I took care of it. I was training and my mum called me crying, 'Why did you do that?' And my dad was kind of mad at me, 'Why did you do that? It's your money!"

"It was the most beautiful day of my life."

"And now I only have one more goal left. Now my goal is to be known as the best MMA fighter in the history."
